The Pilliga Ultra 2023

Pilliga Pottery will be hosting The Pilliga Ultra again this year.
A once-in-a-lifetime, “sports activism” trail-running event set to take place in the Pilliga Forest.
The Pilliga Ultra will raise awareness and funds to protect the ancient forest from mining company Santos’ plans to build coal seam gas wells in the area.
Entrants to The Pilliga Ultra can choose to run 5km, 20km, or 50km through the forest, and experience for themselves the wonder of the rare, intact, eucalypt woodlands that are currently under threat from Santos’ proposed Narrabri Gas Project. The project would involve drilling up to 850 coal seam gas wells and clearing up to 1,000 hectares of forest.
